Effective containment for controlled in-situ burns
Controlled burns. They require a containment boom that can stand the heat. One that can be deployed quickly and efficiently. One that will contain enough oil to facilitate burning – and avoid serious environmental damage.
That's why fire boom from SpillPro ensure even the largest spills can be managed effectively through controlled in-situ burning.
Thanks to their highly heat-resistant and water-cooled construction, our fire booms help eliminate large volumes of oil in minimal time. Easily transported and deployed, they put time on your side – meaning limited impact on the surrounding environment.

Two types of boom. One result – effective containment and IB.
The SpillPro Fire Boom is deployed from the back of a boat. The other end is then connected to a second boat, creating a u-shaped containment area. The boats tow the boom through the spill area before a specially-designed igniter starts the IB.
SpillPro's Hydro-Fire Boom is deployed from a boom reel and connected to high flow water pumps on each boat. Large volumes of water are pumped through and over the boom during the IB. This prevents damage to the boom, ensuring it continues to effectively contain spills – burn after burn.
- Suitable for offshore, open water and deep sea
- Heat-resisting design and technology
- SpillPro offers fire boom training, sea trials and commissioning.

Traditionally, aerial dispersant application has been the go-to solution for marine oil spills. But is there a better application method? We've found two other effective options.
Do you know your foam-filled booms from your fire booms? Can't decide which one's right for you? Read how three types of boom have helped organisations meet their Environmental Duty of care.
These are the most commonly used spill containment booms used today. Which type will be suitable for your operation will depend on your spill containment needs.
